This celebration was one of the highlights of last year.  We joined an A team of suppliers (with the talented Nikki Leadbetter behind the lens) to help bring something a little different to this Kinkell Byre Wedding for Alexis and Dougie.  They had a clear vision from the start , and it was a total pleasure to bring it all to life at one of our favourite venues in Scotland.

The couple had both attended weddings at the venue before and while they loved all that the space had to offer, they wanted it to feel very much them and unlike anything they had seen before.

The brief… a wedding of two halves. Unbridled romance and a real sense of glamour and occasion, followed by a party that sought to see all guests feel at ease and able to revel in the merriment.

Alexis had an eye for detail and knew that she wanted to add to the industrial undertones of the space, dialling up the warmth and intimacy with candlelight and soft metallic hues for this Kinkell Byre wedding.

From the minute guests entered the venue and appreciated the bespoke welcome sign, there could be no doubt that this loved up pair had anything but romance on their minds. A quote from one of the couple’s favourite songs setting the scene and the milieu for the day ahead.

Taking inspiration from Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet we went a bit candle daft.  The team created a theatrical pathway of candlelight to guide guests deeper into the venue.  The flickering pillar candles were displayed at a range of different heights using crates, metal copper cubes and the in-situ casks.

Once guests discovered the ceremony space, the modern boho backdrop and florals offset flawlessly by the brick walls, they could not help but miss that the glamour and romance had been kicked up a few notches yet again.

Whilst Alexis and Dougie were saying their ‘I do’s’ the team (in a very stealth like fashion) took to reception area to change things up a little.  So, when guests left the ceremony space there was a subtle step change to party time – with some more relaxed signage in a whimsical font and the addition of playful neon.  It was time to relax and enjoy all the couple had spent months planning and most importantly take to that dance floor.
