A Colourful and Romantic Autumnal Wedding at Guardswell Farm

A vibrant nature-inspired celebration in a beautifully renovated Scottish barn

Rachael and James celebrated with a dreamy autumn wedding at Guardswell Farm, an converted steading venue nestled in Perthshire with sustainability at its heart. The couple wanted their guests to enjoy unforgettable food, stunning tablescapes adorned with seasonal flowers, and a good dose of playful fun.

Choosing Guardswell Farm for its breathtaking views and beautiful barn features, they appreciated the exposed timber beams and smooth concrete floors, which added a modern rustic elegance. The original features provided warmth, while delicate design details, florals and flickering candlelight enhanced the inviting atmosphere.

This Scottish September wedding beautifully embraced the essence of autumn. The space was filled with locally grown florals and foliage, reflecting the venue’s commitment to sustainability. The warm, cosy tones of the barn were perfectly complemented by vibrant pops of colour, creating a stunning contrast against the backdrop of the venue’s natural finish.

The ceremony took place in The Granary, where floral arrangements welcomed guests on soft-painted plinths. A pair of wild, colourful floral columns served as the couple’s backdrop, adding a touch of romantic whimsy. Their reception took place in The Cattle Court, where we placed inviting seating areas with our vintage furniture pieces, lanterns and decor, adding warmth and purpose to each corner of the venue. As guests entered the dining space, their eyes went straight to the lush greenery installation organically hung over the dining tables. The elongated tablescapes were lined with colourful bud vases and candles of different heights, to illuminate the space with delicate volume. Playful illustrative graphics adorned the stationery, completing the vibrant and unforgettable atmosphere.
