Thanks to its magical feel and incredible history, Cambo Estate is a wedding venue totally unlike any other. This summer, we had the pleasure of being invited to join a Photography Farm shoot, and we jumped at the chance! Being back there reminded us of just how much we love the place, so, here’s 5 reasons why you should have a Cambo Estate wedding (though we could give you way more than 5…):

1. Essentially, it’s the venue of dreams
Look, those aren’t words we’d use lightly: but as wedding venues go, Cambo Estate is pretty much the créme de la créme. The House itself is a super versatile space, elegantly designed and luxuriously finished. Inside, there’s opulent interiors everywhere, including The Dining Room, The Drawing Room and The Ballroom, which we styled for the Photography Farm shoot below. Be still our texture-loving hearts; it was the perfect place to show off gloriously decadent fabrics and flowers, layered with tassels and fringing galore, whilst still remaining fun and light-hearted. Thinking about it, to be honest, we could make a list of reasons alone that was just features of the house: fireplaces, pianos, chandeliers, a whole library…you want it, you’ve got it.

But that’s not all: there’s also a rustic outdoors Courtyard space, the iconic walled garden (perfect for photo opportunities), and a whole festival fairytale woodland, too. Is there anything a Cambo Estate wedding can’t do?

2. With unbeatable views
And if the indoor spaces weren’t enough: wait til you see the outdoors. All in all, Cambo Estate is around 1200 acres of gorgeous Scottish scenery: around 100 of which is magical woodland, and about 200 of which is golf course. Cambo is situated in Fife, which is scientifically Scotland’s sunniest spot, so perfect for showing all your English guests what Scotland can really be like. Plus, there are some beautiful walks that take you straight to the beach and the coastal path that run along the shoreline. Everywhere you turn it’s an idyllic slice of Scottish paradise.

3. You’re guaranteed fun at a Cambo Estate wedding
So, not only are the aesthetics of a Cambo Estate wedding guaranteed, but fun is literally built into its DNA. Though the estate has been with the family since the 1670s, the main house building dates back to 1881, as it was rebuilt after a fire destroyed the original. The cause of that fire? A great big party. We told you it’s genuinely woven into the fabric of the place…

Maybe even more than the looks, it’s this unique blend of heritage and spirit that truly sets Cambo apart, and which inspired the “Tapestry” theme of the Photography Farm Shoot. It’s all about paying homage to heritage without getting stuck in the past: or, as the Cambo team so accurately put it, style without any of the stuffiness.

4. The Cambo Estate wedding team are super friendly
Speaking of the team, they deserve a very special mention here too. They’re such nice people to have on your wedding day crew, and are always willing to go the extra mile for you. In fact, the team is a huge part of why a Cambo Estate wedding can feel like such a home from home, and the importance of that can’t be overstated in wedding planning, which can otherwise be a fairly stressful process…

5. There’s no curfew!
Yep, you read that right. Those lovely Cambo people are well aware that a little party never hurt nobody, so for that reason, the house is exclusively yours when you book. It’s also the reason that there’s no kick-out time on the evening (or, ahem, morning) of your wedding – you’re free to celebrate how you want, when you want, with who you want.
