Megan and Ali’s destination wedding at Birkhill Castle, perched on the banks of the River Tay near St Andrews, was one of our highlights of the summer months. This was the key moment of a whole weekend of celebrations, and it had to be spectacular. Gloam was on hand to create the florals and add the finishing touches to the tablescapes, everything radiated with ethereal romance.
The couple had a clear vision: to hold their ceremony in the castle’s atmospheric walled garden. Their wish was beautifully realised amid gentle rain showers and slight delays. But they held firm and achieved the outdoor celebration they desired under the watchful gaze and direction of wedding planner, Jamie.
As the ceremony unfolded, guests were treated to the sight of lush floral meadows and the melodies of a string quartet. In a moment that felt straight out of a fairy tale, all eyes turned to Megan, who appeared like an ethereal vision, walking gracefully through the gardens.
Following the ceremony, the couple and their friends and family celebrated with an intimate dinner within the castle, with elegant warmth as the design direction.
