A modern day love story in the heart of historical, old town Edinburgh.

Nalya and Brandon always had Scotland on their list of  ‘top places to travel’ so when planning their wedding, it seemed like the perfect time to fly across from the states with their nearest and dearest by their side, to share an intimate wedding celebration in the heart of enchanting Edinburgh.

The Ceremony

Nalya envisioned a wedding that was classic, elegant, and timeless, with a chic and inviting atmosphere. Her love of florals took center stage as we planned an outdoor ceremony with the stunning mountains of Arthur’s Seat as the backdrop. However, in true ‘sunny Scotland’ fashion, the rain moved the celebration indoors. Despite the change in plans, the magic of the day was undiminished. The Gloam floristry team brought the outdoors in, filling the refurbished church in Edinburgh’s Old Town with lush, cascading florals that lined the aisle and surrounded the altar, all bathed in the warm glow of candlelight.

The colour palette featured whites, greens, and neutrals, with soft pops of spring blush. As the string quartet’s classical music resonated off the stone walls and timbered ceiling, the ethereal, romantic energy of the space created the perfect setting for the couple to exchange their heartfelt vows.

The Reception

After their ceremony took place, we worked quickly with the amazing Virgin Hotels team to transform the space, adding one elongated, double width banquet style table which ran the length of the room.  A textured, cream runner placed down the middle of the table added texture with its loose folds. We dotted the runner with a mix of neutral tonal candlesticks and bud vases to add delicate and organic height to the tablescape, giving it a luxe but understated finish. Our team then repositioned the ceremony flowers and candles all around the room ensuring that the florals stayed centre stage and surrounded the couple and their guests. This was a truly remarkable set-up and one that will stay with us.
