Minimalist Summer Wedding with Seasonal Flowers and Natural Elements

From the moment we met Talia and Henry, it was clear that they had a wonderfully relaxed approach to their wedding day. Throughout the styling and floristry process, they exuded ease and confidence, trusting the Gloam team to create a wedding weekend in summer that felt natural and unforced, rather than overly staged or formal.

Talia and Henry were completely captivated by Guardswell Farm – so much so that they decided not to consider any other venues – who could blame them! The stunning views, sustainable farming practices, and beautifully refurbished buildings created the perfect backdrop.

From the welcome dinner to the wedding day and Sunday brunch, Talia and Henry wished for an atmosphere that was both inviting and effortless. Their approach to styling was minimal, embodying a sense of ‘unfussy elegance’ that perfectly complemented the overall vibe and the venue.

Their focus was on good food, flowing drinks and a highlight of the summer season by ‘bringing the outdoors in’. Our floristry team kept the focus on lots of lush greenery, potted plants and gorgeous, locally grown, Scottish blooms in vibrant, summery colours, which brought the neutral and dark toned interiors of Guardswell Farm to life.

The Ceremony

The couple began their celebrations with a church wedding in the nearby village. Our floristry team decorated the church entrance with a wild floral arch, which was later relocated to the venue. The organic, colourful blooms continued to shine throughout the ceremony, culminating in terracotta urn arrangements at the altar, complemented by low meadow-style designs as the base.

The Reception

Back at Guardswell, a hanging installation of lush greenery floated above the reception, while potted plants and vibrant summer florals in stoneware bud vases adorned the tabletops. Terracotta arrangements were strategically placed throughout the venue, adding splashes of colour to the space. Complementing the floristry, a variety of candles in different styles and shades created a relaxed, unstructured aesthetic.

For the furniture, we selected pieces that felt more ‘lived in’ to ensure guests enjoyed comfort throughout the day. We also incorporated ‘handwritten’ style fonts for the wedding stationery and used natural elements, like stone table numbers, to complete the look.

The stunning photographs by Burfly, perfectly showcase the effortless beauty of Talia and Henry’s day. Every moment, from the heartfelt ceremony to the vibrant reception, is captured with a sense of warmth and joy that reflects their vision. We were delighted to have played a part in their celebration.
