Historic Scottish Castle Wedding on the Shores of the Firth of Forth
Nestled on the outskirts of Edinburgh, Barnbougle Castle served as the perfect backdrop for Nicole and Ryan’s romantic castle wedding with modern fairytale vibes. Dramatically perched on the shoreline, the castle offers an ideal vantage point to experience the ever-changing moods of the Scottish weather, adding a mystical drama to the day.
The couple embraced a vibrant colour clashing palette, bursting with rich reds and delicate pinks, which enhanced the castle’s timeless features. As guests arrived, they were welcomed by a whimsy floral column that softened the castle’s historic stone facade.
Nicole and Ryan exchanged vows before a grand fireplace in the venue’s Scottish library, surrounded by thousands of books. Cascading florals adorned the mantle, while abundant bowls graced plinths at the back of the aisle, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the dramatic setting.
Later, the festivities continued in the Barrel-vaulted Banqueting Hall. The tables featured overflowing bowls of florals, delicate single-stem vases, and softly glowing tonal taper candles in vintage brass holders, creating an ambiance of elegance and warmth.
A heartfelt thank you to all the talented suppliers who collaborated with us to bring this vision to life, and a special acknowledgment to Georgia Smith Photography for capturing the day.
